After a stressful week of trying to pick a day for flying with the least obstacles and adverse weather predictions.
Monday the 13th seemed to be the better day of all evils.
In retrospect we feel it was hopefully the right decision. Birds were liberated at 7.30am. We decided to let go as early as possible to be able to sidestep the warmish bergwinds and gale force NW wind.
The gap mother nature awarded us with 2 hours windless weather at home between 8.30 and 10.30 helped the cause. The poor backburners did suffer a bit and the returns from the 600odd mark shows the struggle to come home. Conditions definetly played a roll later in the day.
Birds home definetly did well.
At time of typing some overnighters came in and they look good but can see it was a strenous workout. All reasons and causes always remain hypothetical. But one can only speculate. Was it the NW that forced the late comers out to sea, was it a hawk that got them scattered????? It will remain a mystery but still a great sport with major variables and risks.

But one has to credit those who did well and some incredibly well.
