9th PENULTIMATE RACE
Another lovely day for racing. The air was nice and moist after a blessing of plus minus 30+ mm of rain during the night, rain we desperately needed.
The day belonged to the National Cat Alliance fundraiser. They raised a handsome sum of R13 300.00. Well done to them and Adri Moller, the driving force behind the project.
This race was flown in good spirits with tension and anticipation especially in the leaders as these short races can cause a stir and a reshuffle. Fortunately, it did not live up totally to the horrible reputation.
The birds arrived in two separate packs that joined each other on the landing board of 20 odd birds. The rest of the birds followed in quick succession. The birds covered this short race with ease and they look good. It was a great preparation for the final race from Greytown 635km on the 12th August.
A reminder of the final race which includes the celebratory race that has a first prize of a car on the spell, on condition that 200 birds are activated. So please get your nominations in early so marketing can be made for the rest. We will be marketing flying rights for the race.
The prestige of winning a car in the pigeon racing fraternity is huge. Only a secluded group of fanciers have achieved this accolade, so this is your chance to achieve the possibility. Join the group, activate your bird, anything is possible. All the birds remaining in this loft have proven that they are worthy of being called a champion in their own right. It is a tough, strenuous competition.
Over the years, statistically, our final race has proven that nothing can be taken for granted. Birds lying on average in the eighties, have won the final race. This is the chance for the bird and fancier to make a name for himself. Even the million dollar final race has proven how open a final race can be. It also shows how much fanciers value afinal race winner.
Look at “MIX” belonging to Gaddin Bros and Charl Stander that won the million dollar final race. It fetched a whooping R1,1 million at the auction. The prestige and the value is long lived. Don’t miss out and don’t underestimate the ability and possibility of the birds. Any bird that has made it to here, could definitely win the final race.
Don’t be disappointed or regret the chance or the belief in your bird and its ability. All it takes is a phone call, a message or a whatsapp.
