Good morning from a chilly Carnival Lofts, the winter weather and below zero temperatures have reached us as predicted by the weather services, the 108km training flight scheduled for Tuesday was postponed till weather permitting tomorrow.
Current predictions are for an assisting wind tomorrow so it could be a fast training flight. I will see how the kit responds tomorrow and then if all goes well we can do another 108km on Saturday perhaps.
The early weather predictions for next week is again not great with some rain predicted and we might have to amend the training schedule by a few days but I will keep you all up to date as to when we will do the trainings or you can just follow the results page on Benzing as we will have the basket list up the day before each training.
The activations of ALL your remaining pigeons after the 200km training flight (date of the training flight to follow) in the near future so please keep that in mind. All pigeons whose activation fees are not paid 48hours before race 1 will be disqualified. Race 1 is scheduled to take place on Friday 1 July 2021. This means ALL the pigeons in the loft by 29 June 2021 must be paid for.
A knock-out competition (free of charge) will be run on the 6 race series, the bottom 15% in each of the 5 races before the final will be eliminated, this means the top 25% will remain in the running on the final race, the first pigeon left in the competition and then clocked on the final race will be crowned the knock-out champion for 2022 and will receive a trophy plus R5000 in prize money.
We will host a team competition for the winter 2022 series, every entrant is allowed to nominate a maximum of 3 pigeons per team, you can nominate less pigeons in your team if you do not have 3 left. The costs will be R400 per team payable the day you send me your team nominations. Fanciers who still have more than 3 pigeons left can nominate more than one team but only 3 pigeons per team are allowed and no pigeon can be entered into more than 1 team. Teams must be named A, B, C etc. these nominations must be mailed (flyrite@allflite.co.za or info@carnivalloft.co.za) AND send via whatsapp (+27829281742) to me no later than next Friday 24 June 2022.
I will send out the nominated teams and have it posted on the whatsapp group; once I sent out the teams make sure the info is correct and if there are any mistakes let me know immediately please. The winning team will win R10 000. Point’s allocation for the team’s competition will be a full points system on the first 50 positions of the 6 races. Every pigeon in a team will get the full points scored as long as they are in the top 50 of the official results per race. Should we have two or more teams after the final race with the same amount of points the money will be divided equally between the teams that are leading the averages.
